The first laser was built in 1960. Laser stands for "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation". Lasers are highly focused, concentrated light. They can be used for illumination, surgery, welding, reading and writing digital information, printing, barcode scanners, rock concerts, and many other applications. And they just look amazing. What if the flowers (and other inhabitants, welcome or not) of your garden glowed with that kind of light?
